Digital Marketing Project: Honey Stinger

This is a capstone digital marketing project I completed recently for a course through the University of Vermont. We covered all prominent areas of digital marketing, though not all were applicable to this particular project (ex. SEO) as it was focused specifically on increasing trial for a new Honey Stinger product.

Hopefully this will illustrate my understanding of digital strategy, the tactical roles of the platforms throughout the funnel and my ability to thoughtfully create and execute a presentation. Enjoy!

Rev3 and blueseventy Promotion

Rev3 Triathlon and blueseventy are running a co-promotion through which athletes receive a free race entry to any Olympic or Half Rev3 event if they purchase a Helix wetsuit (from the Rev3 Store); the offer is also good for half off a race entry for a Full Rev event. The total with shipping for a Helix wetsuit is $665.99, while registrations for the events range from $125-$175 (Olympic), $210-$275 (Half) and $425-$575 (Full) - registration figures reflect price increase after early and middle registration periods. As the offer is good only through this week - March 7th is the deadline - the best registration value is half of the Full Rev, or $212.50, which equates to a 32% discount off the price of the wetsuit. Facebook Timelines: Endurance Publications and Resources

Now that Facebook is converting everyone to the new "Timeline" format, it's interesting to see how the endurance community is reacting - are they using the large profile photo for promotion or marketing, using dramatic photos to stir emotion, or are they letting the opportunity go by the wayside? In this case, are they appropriately leveraging their content. This is merely an image gallery (in no particular order) of updated Facebook timelines, the last in a five-part series. Some are creative, some are strategic and some could use work. It's important to remember the primary benefits of having a Facebook page in the first place - allowing a publication to reach, interact with, and learn from athletes through a comfortable medium. Endurance Travel Flying High

Travel and tourism continues to be one of the largest economic impact factors of endurance events, which has led organizations and events to look at ways to capitalize. In other cases, travel companies tied to endurance brands and events are evolving vacations for athletes looking for unique experiences of a lifetime. Star Events - producers of cycling, triathlon and running events - recently launched a travel division, Star Travel offering accommodation packages exclusively for Star Events. Benefits for using this event-hosted service is described as accommodation in preselected hotels, private apartments and villas all in walking distance from the start and finish line, insider information for training facilities, cozy restaurants, and attractive sites worth sightseeing.
